I have a rental that I want to sell, can I just dark varnish the hardwood bedroom floors without all that extra work of sanding?
I just thought that a dark varnish would look better than brown paint.

My view is that you will have to sand it down before applying the varnish. However you could ask employees of a sherwin williams store, they sell varnish, woodstain, other supplies like sandpaper, ect. Free advice from a professionaL
